The past two weeks have been filled with more health issues for the Middleton children. Mattie ran 102-103 fever for three days, but we are just finishing an antibiotic that seems to be doing the trick. Her lingering cough of five weeks is absent at the moment! Her mood and behavior has greatly improved! Thank goodness for that because Elijah got very sick last week. The doctors office was closed so I made multiple phone calls to the nurse practitioner on call and we even went to the ER on Christmas Eve! Finally on Monday we were able to visit our Pediatrician to fix him up. As the pediatrician put it we have multiple things going on here. His symptoms have been a cough, congestion, wheezing, bad eczema, diarrhea and vomiting. We were sent home with an inhaler, steroid cream and s new very expensive hypoallergenic formula. The diarrhea has stopped and he has only vomited once since after the appointment on Monday. We can see that he is feeling better by his smiles. However, at times he is very fussy and clingy! Mattie was feeling much better on Christmas and had a wonderful time! Her smile lights up the room. We hope the new year brings us better health! Have a safe and happy New Year!
