My Mattie is 2 years old!!!
Mattie went to her 2yr. check up today! She is doing great! Matt and I are so happy that her ear tubes have stayed in place for 1yr, especially since they cost us an arm and a leg to pay for! Also, she is 34 1/2inches tall and 28lbs. The doc. told us an old wise tail that if you double this number it can reflect her possible height as an adult. That would make her 5ft9in. I thought this was funny!! I am 5'3 and Matt's 5'7. The pediatrician said she will most likely be taller than me though, but maybe not that tall! My dad is 6foot so you never know I guess! Mattie is talking all of the time! She makes Matt and I laugh and we are amazed at the things she tells us. Elijah loves to watch her play, which is probably why he has just started to roll from his tummy to his back. He is content and so easily entertained by her! He smiles at her, and she loves to give him toys. Mattie is not napping anymore, but she is having quiet time in her bed. The pediatrician said to give her some books to look at during her quiet time. We are going to try that this week. Mattie loves to paint, look at books, chase Puga around the house, and watch her "shows"! She has a wonderful and energetic personality! We are truly blessed to be her parents! As Matt and I say a lot "She is a mess!"

Elijah goes for his 6month check up and shots next month so I will post an update next month. We did let Dr.T check him over today because he has been fussy, and I found some swollen lymph nodes on his head and neck. He still has cradles cap and eczema issues on the top of his scalp. She said that the scalp and skin issue is causing his lymph nodes to be swollen. Everything checked out good so she thinks his head and the itching is bothering him. Poor baby!! I try so hard to make it go away, but it just won't clear up! He scratches at his head all of the time, and he sometimes makes it bleed so I have to keep his fingernails pretty short. He can finally roll over from his tummy to his back. I asked the doc. about this today as well. We are about a month behind with his physical development, but he was 3wk early and had a pretty rough start with two hospitalizations and RSV at a different time! He also won't eat his rice cereal. He pushes it out with is tongue. I found out today that this is a safety mechanism of the baby telling us he is not ready to eat or swallow solids. He still chokes easily on his formula and reflux so that's fine with me. It's pretty scary! Look for more updates next month!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday cards and presents for Mattie!!

Enjoy the pictures!

I think Little Hannah favors Elijah. Their eyes and nose seem so similar!

Mattie went from her toddler bed to a full bed. Her crib converted to a toddler bed and to a full bed. She is having issues taking naps so we are hoping this helps her nap better. She was excited until it was time for Mommy and Daddy to leave. She said "Don't want a big girl bed mama?" She pointed to her pillow and cried for daddy to stay. It was so hard to leave her. We didn't put side rails up, and she did not fall out last night!
