Peanut Allergy.....
We took Mattie to the allergist today and she tested POSITIVE for Peanut Allergy. Matt and I have been trying to learn about this the past few weeks and have learned that there is more to this than just avoiding peanuts and peanut butter!
No Chick File....cooked in Peanut Oil
No Nestle Chocolate....manufactured with other candies with peanuts
No Little Debbie cakes....also manufactured with other Debbie cakes with peanuts
No Chinese......they use a lot of peanuts in their dishes
(cross contamination in mills and factories that make products with peanuts can pose a risk for her as well)
All of my favorites!! Matt said (I know/hope he was joking)...Gosh, Paulene don't think of yourself. I replied with gosh Matt I'm pregnant and am starving!
We have a lot more to learn so wish us luck and pray that Mattie is safe.
The allergist also tested her for allergies to dust, dogs, and cats. She also tested positive for dust allergies. They educated me about cleaning and items to make her bed healthier for her. (Do you think Matt will get me a Dusting Maid??) We are thankful that we don't have to find any homes for our three cats and Puga. Mattie is too! Her best friends right now are Puga and Yogi, as she calls them "Dogga and YoYoYoieeee"......

We are finding out the gender of our "peanut" July 1st. I know, pretty ironic that we named our baby peanut but we have been calling it this since way before this allergy incident.

Is Mattie spoiled?
Well, we went looking at cribs and came home with the horse!!! Of course Matt and I find ways to reason getting it for her.
1. It was 50% off....
2. It is a Melissa and Doug toy (our favorite toy maker)
3. Well, it's really for Mattie and Peanut (right)
4. She was so CUTE riding it in the store!!

15 Month old Check up......
Mattie is growing great! She is still in the 98% percentile for her height and head circumfrance. We can't beleive how tall she is!! She weighed 23lbs and is in the 55th% for her weight. We found out today that we have to turn her carseat rear facing again. Very Bad news for us!!! She hates the carseat especially when it was rear facing. The America Academy of Pediatrics released an article where it was researched that it is 5 times safer to have a child rear facing until age 2 when the child's neck muscles will be stronger. They listed other reasons that made sense as well. Wish us luck with this! I love riding with Mattie facing forward. She yells "Hey MaMa".... , and I get to look back at her waving smiling!!
We go to the allergist this Friday to confirm peanut and nut allergies. Mattie is still getting her vaccines separateds and is tollerating them well this way.

Thanks for my hairbows Jackie and Uncle John John! Thanks Aunt Deborah and Uncle Joel for my get well card!
(Mattie had a reaction last Saturday to peanuts and wee had to go to the ER. She was eating some PB&J after church. She did not eat much b/c she did not like it (like her daddy I guess/he HATES Peanut butter) and rubbed most of it on her face. Then she broke out in hives on her face, runny eyes, red eyes, and she was scratching her face like crazy. We go to our Pediatrician this week for our 15month check up then most likely off to the allergist to confirm a peanut allergy.

Here are a few videos and pictures from our beach trip. We all had a great time!!! Mattie is our little social butterfly! She waved and said "Hey" to everyone she passed. She made three little boyfriends in the kiddy pool. They did not want to have much to do with her but that did not stop her! Mattie enjoyed the sand, ocean, pools, food, and a whole week with Daddy. She is a big "Daddy's Girl"!!! Matt could barley read a page in his book without Mattie wanting to sit in his lap or play with him! More pictures and videos to come later this week!
