We have had a very busy couple of weeks. Mattie and I left Daddy on his birthday and went to take care of Nana for 8 days in Athens. Nana had hand surgery. Mattie and I really missed "daddy!" Mattie seemed fussier in Athens and was not sleeping very well. She also started spitting up more too. We came home and her fussiness increased. I think she has been teething for a while as her hands are constantly in her mouth and her drooling is increasing. Well, last Thursday Mattie started having inconsolable screaming spells. She also started waking up a few times a night crying and became very clingy. Friday I finally called the doctor after she seemed to be vomiting. Everything checked out to be ok, but then on Monday the urine sample/culture was positive meaning that Mattie has a UTI. The doctor explained that this is not due to hygiene issues so further testing is needed. September 5th she will have an ultrasound of her kidneys and a VCUG/fluorscopy. They will inject a barium dye into her bladder with a catheter to see if urine is flowing back to the kidney from the urinary tract, reflux. We started antibiotics, and we can see in improvement in her mood. She is still waking up a few times a night and is very clingy, but she is teething as well!

On the fun side, we started Kindermusik this week. Mattie also went to her water babies class and went under water twice! She did great and really enjoyed herself. I was happy to see her with a smile on her face. The music class was a lot of fun for the both of us!

Here are some pictures of Mattie. She is starting to sit up on her own and pushing up while on her tummy. We are so proud of our Mattie! Puga never leaves her side as you can tell from these pictures. Her face lights up when she sees Puga. Mattie loves to pet Puga, and Puga loves to lick Mattie. I am predicting we will have our hands full when Mattie begins to crawl.
