Poor Mattie! Mattie caught a pretty nasty cold the day after her birthday party. Today, Thursday, was her well baby check up. Well, she was not too well. We took her to the doctor twice last week for a suspicious cough, but all was clear. This past Sunday her personality changed! She became grumpy and clingy. I almost took her to the doctor Tuesday, but held off until today. Poor thing, she has a double ear infection and is going to see the ENT next week to see if tubes would be necessary. Her past ear infections were just in her left ear, and they did not slow her down too much. This time Mattie puts her little head down on my lap, shoulder, and her lovey. Even, Mattie's doctor said she really is not acting like herself. So we came home with another round of antibiotics. She has kept a low grade fever for 11 days now so once that is gone we know she will be feeling better!

On the positive note, she is growing well! She is in the 97th percentile for her height, 60% for her weight, and 90% for the size of her head. She lost a pound from last week as she is eating poorly! We are still giving her two bottles a day to keep her nourished. So wish us some luck because when she starts feeling better "bye bye" bottle and she loves her bottle! We hope Mattie keeps going strong with her height for Basketball purposes! She is still not walking, but with her walker in tow she seems to walk with her feet out (like momma). The doctor looked at her hips and said they are a little rotated so she will recheck at 15 months.

Just a quick update..... Mattie turned one today!! She went to Kindermusik in her pink tutu, rode in the car facing forward (22lbs), got her hair cut, ate a cupcake and rode in her new buggy around the neighborhood. Now she is asleep! We had a blast today!! I will post pictures of her birthday party soon. Yes, Mattie is standing on her own! She rocks like she wants to take a step, but she is not too sure yet!

This week Mattie is wanting to hold our fingers and walk a lot. Occasionally she will hold one finger and take a few steps. This is an improvement from last week where she tried to sit and crawl every time I tired to make her walk.

Mattie has her third ear infection since January. The strange thing is it is only in her left ear. Mommy has learned that when Mattie gets a cough it is her ear. Mattie luckily has not run any high fevers with these ear infections. Just a cough, a lot of boogies, and she wakes up crying at night.
